This free utility is a very small (36 KB) zipped download and is a
stand-alone application that requires no installation and makes no changes to
your computer. Both 32- and 64-bit executables are included in the zipped
package and the program runs in Windows XP, Vista, and 7. The close action is
very fast; it simply flashes a "close" signal to all open applications on
the desktop and then ceases. If something like a Word document needs saving,
the usual dialog for saving the document will appear first so no work is
lost. You can create a desktop shortcut to the little executable file and
assign a hotkey if desired. Simple, effective, small and entirely free.
